چکیده

Studies concerning the identity of the serine and threonine deaminases have been carried out in several laboratories. Wood and Gunsalus (1949) employing a partially purified system extracted from Escherichia coli suggested that both serine and threonine are deaminated by the same enzyme. Similarly, studies with Neurospora indicate that these amino acids are deaminated by one enzyme (Yanofsky, 1952; Yanofsky and Reissig, 1953). In contrast, Dawes (1952) reported data which were interpreted to suggest that the serine deaminase and threonine deaminase are separate and distinct enzymes, and Lichstein (1951) suggested the possibility that two enzymes requiring the same cofactors are concerned in the deamination of these two amino acids. The results of the present study reveal that although closely related the deaminases of serine and threonine appear to be separate and distinct enzyme systems.

Theoretical Thermodynamic Study of Solvent Effects on Serine and Threonine Amino Acids at Different Temperatures

The thermodynamic functions such as enthalpy (H), Gibbs free energy (G) and entropy (S) of Serineand Threonine amino acids were theoretically studied at different condition (solvents andtemperatures) by using Gussian o3, software. First, the structural optimization of isolated Serine andThreonine were done in the gas phase by using the Hartree-Fock (HF) level of theory with 3-21G, 6-31G and 6-3...

Electron Ionization of Serine and Threonine: a Discussion about Peak Intensities

The present study describes the fragmentation under electron ionization (EI) of gas phase serine and threonine amino acids. Ab initio methods were performed to calculate the fragmentation paths and interpret the mass spectra. The six lowest energy conformers of L-serine, L-threonine and L-allo-threonine were obtained with B3LYP, G3MP2 and MP2 methods. The adiabatic and vertical ionizat...

Serine and threonine desaminaes of Escherichia coli; activators for a cell-free enzyme.

Serine has been reported by many workers to be deaminated by a variety of bacterial cells and tissues, but this process was first studied in detail by Gale and Stephenson in 1938 (1). These workers followed the serine deaminase of Escherichia coli by measuring the release of ammonia by resting cell suspensions. The reaction proceeded anaerobically, thereby distinguishing it from the oxidative d...

The inhibitory effect of glucose on certain amino acid deaminases.

The incorporation of glucose into growth media was observed as early as 1912 (Kendall and Farmer) to decrease markedly the production of ammonia by bacteria. Since that time, it has been learned from studies in which bacteria were grown in the presence of this carbohydrate (Epps and Gale, 1942) that a variety of deaminases are either not produced or are formed in low concentration. These findin...

Evaluation of gill metabolites of Iranian sturgeon fingerlings Acipenser persicus at different levels of water salinity using HNMR method

Abstract In the present study, 180 Persian sturgeon fries at releasing weight with average weight of 1.8 ± 0.6 g were exposed to three different salinity levels including 0 (fresh water), 6 and 12 ppt in 96-hour and 10-day periods for measuring their gill metabolites by H-NMR based metabolomics. The results showed that changes in salinity caused changes in the metabolites involving in osmotic ...
